Clearwater Ranks Among World’s Best Cities for Relaxing Getaways

In a new report covering this year’s trending wellness travel trend — sleep tourism — Clearwater, Florida ranks among the world’s top cities for a relaxing getaway. 

From sleep and bedding experts at Purecare, The Best Cities in the World for a Sleepcation report takes into account the fact that hotels are leading the trend and also layers in factors that highlight peaceful, quiet, and refreshing destinations.

The report analyzes over 70,000 hotels listed on Tripadvisor across 95 of the world’s top cities for calm, relaxing, or sleep travel (and more) to find: 

Clearwater, Florida ranks #6 in the world for a sleepcation, and of the top 10 cities, it’s one of the 5 with a perfect score for “less pressure to sightsee.”

Only one other U.S. city lands in the top 10, #4 Madison, Wisconsin. 

By some accounts, Clearwater lacks the “wild spring break energy” often found in Florida beach towns and features.  

Only 23 US cities, including 3 in Florida, were considered in this analysis, including Tampa (#32) and Key West (#91).
