Community Foundation Tampa Bay awards $50K grant to support hurricane-resilient affordable homes in Lealman

Community Foundation Tampa Bay awarded a $50,000 Competitive Grant to Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside to help build hurricane-resilient affordable homes in Lealman Heights. On Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 9 a.m., the Foundation will join Habitat for a grant check presentation and hard hat tour offering an inside look at the homes under construction.

The grant will fund impact-rated windows, hurricane-rated garage doors and truss straps for roof anchoring as Habitat works toward delivering 57 new single-family homes and townhomes for families earning 30–80% of the area median income. The investment is designed to help protect homeowners from storm damage and displacement while supporting long-term housing stability.
