Macy’s and the Y partner to fund camp scholarships this summer
WHAT: For the second year in a row, Macy’s is partnering with the Y to give kids a summer camp experience. Until Sunday, May 22, Macy’s at Tyrone Square Mall invites shoppers to round-up their in-store purchase to the nearest dollar and donate the difference (up to $.99) to support the Y’s camp scholarship program that sends kids to summer camp at Tyrone Square Mall.
The Y’s camp scholarship program helps kids, especially underserved youth, attend camp, where they are introduced to new experiences that build confidence and develop skills to help them reach their full potential. In 2017, Macy’s raised more than $975,000 for the Y camps nationwide, sending more than 8,000 kids to camp who would have been unable to attend otherwise.
MORE: Summer camp offers kids a fun and unique opportunity to meet new friends, explore the outdoors, discover new interests and create memories that last a lifetime. The Y is one of the largest providers of programs nationwide, conducting 1,850 day camps and 320 overnight camps across the country for youth and teens.
