Florida Group Wins National Prize to Elevate Women Entrepreneurs
Women entrepreneurs in the Tampa Bay area will soon have greater access to resources for research and innovation thanks to USF CONNECT and its partners on a nationally recognized team led by the Florida High Tech Corridor.
In its very first Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Catalyst Competition, the U.S. Small Business Administration is awarding The Corridor team one of eight prizes totaling $150,000 for plans to facilitate the inclusivity and increased participation of women entrepreneurs in the SBIR program.
As a member of the first SBIR Catalyst Competition cohort, the Florida group serves as a model partnership creating the framework for future collaborations designed to support underrepresented entrepreneurs. If successful, the initiative may be expanded significantly in an effort by the Biden-Harris Administration Build Back Better Agenda.
We would love to work with you on a story about this program and what it means for underrepresented women entrepreneurs in your area. Please see additional details on the announcement below.
Thanks for your consideration and for helping us raise awareness of the resources available to women entrepreneurs in Florida.
Best,
Toni-Ann Burke
On behalf of the Florida High Tech Corridor Council
