Help towards funding Florida’s exising social service organizations.

Florida is a very attractive destination for families desiring to leave high cost northern states. I propose Florida implement a new resident ( entrance fee) to help fund existing social service organizations. In order to become a new resident of Florida a family would be required to pay a fee equal to the state income tax they paid the previous year to the state they are leaving. Based on the number of new residents in Florida last year I believe this could raise more than $2 billion annually. From Florida’s perspective this is logical based on the value our state offers. From a new resident’s point of view it is only delaying by one year the ongoing annual benefit they will have as a resident of Florida.
