IGNITE Tampa Bay Comes to St Pete in June
Sold out for the past 7 years, Ignite Tampa Bay returns with its simple premise: “Enlighten us, but make it quick.”
Since 2006, Ignite has presented hundreds of talks around the world, sparking thriving Ignite communities in Portland, Sydney, Boulder, New York, and Tampa. Topics from past years have ranged from urban planning to Cuba relations to baking the perfect loaf of bread. Presenters are anyone and everyone in the community who has an idea or passion to share. Ignite events are all-ages, fast-paced, sometimes-unpredictable, and always thought provoking.
Presenters are asked: If you had five minutes on stage, what would you say? What if you only had 20
slides, and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? The format lends itself to showcasing a diverse range of speakers and topics designed to stimulate short attention spans.
This year Ignite Tampa Bay will be hosted for the first time in Downtown St. Petersburg at the Palladium Theater (253 5th Ave N St. Petersburg, FL 33701) on June 13, 2018. Serial tech founder, Tampa Bay startup community advocate, respected entrepreneur mentor, Silicon Valley expat and current Co-Founder of Dabbl, Marvin Scaff, will be the emcee for the evening. Marvin explains, “I’ve seen the rest of the country begin to take notice of what I have known since moving here in 1991: Tampa is a not only a great place to start a company—it really is a great place to build and scale a business. It’s encouraging to see all the interest and investment in the startup community
here…”
Ignite Tampa Bay is currently accepting speaker applications via the event website. The deadline for submissions is May 20, 2018. Interested attendees are also encouraged to purchase
tickets or consider being a sponsor.
