Lakeside Condo Project Back to Review
My letter to City Council.
It has come to my attention that the hearing for the resumption of the Lakeside Condo project is back on the schedule for October 5, 2022.@ 1 pm in City Hall.
I live across the alley at 750 Burlington Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
I have been observing the construction of the 18 story Reflection. This project has required that roads and sidewalks be shut down during the construction phase. The disruption to the lives of neighbors has been significant.
The patch of land that has been purchased for the Lakeside condo is small and is surrounded by small scale buildings. It sits across from the Mirror Lake Park. Our alley is a narrow brick access to most of our parking.
It appears that large scale projects requires closure of adjacent road and alleys to allow for massive equipment to be on site.
As a life long, tax paying citizen of this community I ask you to please address this issue.
Land can be bought and sold to and by those with money.. Our community can be improved or ruined by the will of the powerful.
It is my understanding that in 2017 codes were established that allower 200 foot construction in DC 2.

This decision should have taken into consideration the unique flavor of the area adjacent to Mirror Lake and exempted it from that scale of structure.
Paving Paradise is a sad and can rarely be corrected.
