Myarea Network Supports Local Businesses Affected by the Red Tide
St Petersburg, FL — Seven counties on the southwest Gulf Coast are being affected by Red Tide.
Governor Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency for these counties in response to the nine-month
bloom. Not only are southwestern beaches suffering, local businesses are experiencing a drop-off in
sales during their already slow season. MyArea Network is standing with businesses to alleviate the
problem by promoting #EatPlayLoveLocal a social media initiative encouraging locals to get out and
support their favorite local businesses and spread the word that their counties are still open for
business.
Scott Conlon, President & CEO of MyArea Network says, “We want to stand by our local businesses.
Through the #EatPlayLoveLocal initiative we want to emphasize the importance of a strong local
community and the local businesses are the cornerstone.”
MyArea Network is offering a free promotion to local businesses inviting them to add an offer to the
727area site which will be included in the initiative to #EatPlayLoveLocal. Businesses are also invited to
claim your business on 727area for free providing more online and media exposure to increase their
traffic and engagement.
Until this red tide bloom ends, MyArea Network pledges to stand strong with the affected counties and
promises to #EatPlayLoveLocal for #redtiderelief. St Petersburg and Clearwater area residents can do
their part making a pledge to support local businesses by claiming a local deal and visiting their local
restaurants and retail shops. #EatPlayLoveLocal.
