“Oh Yeah?! Show with David Downing” is Back for Season 2 on RHStv

Tampa Bay’s original late-night experience is back with a new season of music, comedy, and conversation

Monday nights are getting a little more entertaining. The stage lights are on, the band is ready and David Downing is bringing the Oh Yeah?! energy back to RHStv.

Oh Yeah?! Show with David Downing will premiere Season 2 this Monday, Sept. 14, at 8 p.m. on RHStv, bringing new episodes, performances, unexpected moments and plenty of local personality to Tampa Bay audiences.

Hosted by syndicated travel show host and longtime Tampa Bay resident David Downing, Oh Yeah?! puts a distinct Tampa Bay spin on the traditional late-night format. Produced by the multi-award-winning video production company, Red House Streaming, the series combines comedy, conversation, live music and audience interaction to create an experience that feels less like a traditional talk show and more like a night out.

“Season 1 was us figuring out what the Oh Yeah Show?! was in front of a live audience,” says Downing, who “somehow ended up” writing the theme song and all his own monologues. “Season 2 is us pretending we knew what we were doing all along, so we’re like, ‘Yeah, be cool — just play along and don’t ruin this for us, y’know?’”

A new addition this fall is a companion piece, “Oh Yeah?! One More Thing,” a hosted outtake reel featuring bloopers, exclusive footage and behind-the-scenes moments. Airing the week after each episode debuts, the segment gives viewers a second look at the fun on and off camera, with the host adding running commentary, playful asides and lines he “only thought of when he sobered up after the taping.”

Season 2 was filmed live in front of a studio audience at FloridaRAMA in St. Petersburg’s Warehouse Arts District. The immersive art destination provides a colorful new backdrop for the show following Season 1’s run filmed at the historic Palladium Theater, which has closed for year-long renovation.

The show’s house band, The Oh Yeah-Yeahs — known locally as The Black Honkeys — brings a nine-piece funk sound and live musical energy to the stage.

Season 1 featured 14 episodes and established Oh Yeah?! as one of RHStv’s signature original productions. The season welcomed guests including Florida gubernatorial candidate David Jolly, The Brady Bunch actor Robbie Rist, chart-topping musician Alex Harris and hometown Hollywood actor Eugenie Bondourant, helping position Oh Yeah?! as a destination for memorable conversations, performances and personalities that run the gamut from local hero to international stars.

Season 2 continues that momentum with conversations, performances, comedy and the people and personality that make Tampa Bay unique.
