Demand for the free St. Petersburg Black History Tour has increased this year. People don’t want to miss learning St. Pete’s eye-opening Black history. The tour offers the opportunity to pedal back in time and stand on the ground where the Black history first began. As the history is revealed, participants understand the background to the systemic racism in our city today. Long-time residents and new residents are amazed by how much new information is learned. Led by local historian Josette Green, she shares the history through photos, historic facts, stories and historic events. The tour concludes with a talk by Mr. Elihu Brayboy “Mr. B.” and his lived experience.

St. Petersburg Black History Bike Tour has now posted seven free opportunities to take this tour this fall. Tours are filling so now is the time to commit. Dates and registration are at BlackHistoryBikeTour.com. Spring dates will be posted in the fall. Tour season is Sept-May.

The free public tours (donations accepted) begin at 9:00 am on Saturdays in the parking lot of the Catalyst at the Deuces, 903 22nd St. S. In St. Petersburg. RSVP required. For ages 13 and older. For questions or private tours, please contact Josette at BlackHistoryBT@gmail.com.
