Tampa and Malawi engineers build JustGains around shared training
Tampa-based software engineer James Greene and founding engineer Glory Sinkhonde in Malawi are building JustGains, a social fitness app available on iPhone, Android and the web.
The small team works across six time zones. Greene brings a software background spanning C#, cloud and security. Sinkhonde taught herself to code in Malawi and started freelancing in 2022. Her work on JustGains includes the workout-program importer and the curated program library. Their public team story is at https://justgains.com/founders .
JustGains combines free core workout logging with routines, squads, chat and leaderboards. Optional Pro features support additional workflows. The product is built around helping people maintain a training habit with others, while keeping the ability to export their workout history. Its import tools support history from several existing workout trackers.
For people who want to try a useful tool before creating an account, Workout Forge builds an editable session around the equipment they have: https://justgains.com/forge . Public calculators include TDEE, strength standards and heart-rate zones.
The company also publishes read-only exercise and aggregate strength-reference APIs for attributed use by publishers and developers. Those endpoints require server-side use, caching and visible source credit. The documentation distinguishes logged-training cohorts from general-population or competition standards: https://justgains.com/flexicon/data .
The current iPhone version, 2.2.0, was released October 29, 2026, according to its App Store listing. The product can be found at https://justgains.com , with the iPhone app at https://apps.apple.com/app/justgains/id6761445515 and Android app at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.justgains.justgainsmobile .
