Tampa Based Liquor Depot’s Fundraiser for Mike Alstott Family Foundation Hits a New Record
The Tampa Bay area community came out in full support of Liquor Depot’s charity barrel fundraiser program to support the Mike Alstott Family Foundation on October 3. For the fifth year in a row, Liquor Depot owner Trey Lawson teamed up with former Buccaneers player Mike Alstott and the Mike Alstott Family Foundation for this initiative. This year’s barrel hit a record breaking high of $18,000 raised.
The bottles were available exclusively for purchase at the Liquor Depot Waters location (7304 W Waters Avenue) in Tampa. In addition, Mike Alstott was at the store taking photos and signing bottles. The bottles sold out right away. The barrel that Trey and Mike selected this year is a Penelope Havana 114 – proof single barrel pick (Maple finish only). This is the only single barrel of its kind in the world and sold for $140.40 per bottle.
Trey, a life-long Buccaneers fan, launched this charity barrel fundraiser back in 2021 because he is passionate about giving back and making a difference in his community. Since the start of this initiative, Liquor Depot has now donated over $78,000 to the Mike Alstott Family Foundation from 100% of the proceeds of five barrels they have done together. The Mike Alstott Family Foundation’s mission is to uplift the minds, hearts and spirits of families and children on their way to realizing their full potential through various events, assistance programs and celebrations.
“We had a huge turnout and support from our community. Single barrels are incredibly unique and once they are sold, they are gone forever, never to be replicated. Our customers started lining up at midnight, so they did not miss the opportunity to secure their bottles from this exclusive barrel opportunity before they were sold out. This year’s one-of-a-kind pick was a great opportunity to raise funds for the Mike Alstott Family Foundation and continue to make a difference in our community,” said Trey Lawson, owner of Liquor Depot.
