The Clyde Best Story documentary coming to Tampa’s Palladium Theater May 7-8

“Transforming the Beautiful Game: The Clyde Best Story” documentary featuring former Tampa Bay Rowdies star and 1975 NASL Champion Clyde Best is coming to The Palladium Theater on May 7-8 for its U.S. premiere.

This acclaimed documentary covers Best’s rise from 17-year-old Bermudian at West Ham as the first black superstar of the modern TV era in England to his years with the Tampa Bay Rowdies including the NASL Soccer Bowl ’75 championship. Opening night premieres in London and Bermuda sold out and the showings in Tampa are the first for the U.S. Tour that will continue with stops in Portland (OR), Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Boston and New York City.

The movie includes a panel discussion and Q&A after the film featuring Clyde Best and other former Tampa Bay Rowdies and international soccer stars. Tickets start at $35.
