Times Publishing Company and Catalyst Media Group Forge Content Sharing Partnership to Enhance Local News Coverage

August 19, 2024 –  Times Publishing Company, parent of the Tampa Bay Times and the community-news focused Tampa Bay Newspapers, and Catalyst Media Group, parent of St. Pete Catalyst and Cityverse, today announce a content sharing partnership. 

The partnership expands upon a relationship that began with Times Publishing Company Chairman and CEO Conan Gallaty joining the Cityverse Board of Advisors. Cityverse is a sister organization of the Catalyst. 

Through this partnership, the Tampa Bay Times can publish local coverage produced by the Catalyst. The cooperative agreement will also help launch the St. Pete Beacon, a free weekly print publication produced by Tampa Bay Newspapers Inc., owned by Times Publishing Co., for residents of the Sunshine City, in 2025.

The agreement is intended to better serve the community by increasing coverage of local news. “As the local news environment continues to be challenging, it is more important than ever that organizations dedicated to responsible, high-quality journalism work together to tell the stories that matter in our day-to-day lives,” Catalyst publisher Joe Hamilton said. “By partnering, our organizations can serve the community more efficiently and effectively.”“We’re dedicated to providing trustworthy local reporting to Tampa Bay, as is the Catalyst,” said Gallaty. “This collaboration helps us deliver more coverage that our region needs.”
