Gypsy Souls
There’s a lot to like on the quiet stretch of MLK from 5th Ave North to 7th Ave. Just south of the Nova 535 event space is Gypsy Souls Coffee House, where they know what those who haunt coffee shops want, having developed their concept at their Redington Shores location.
The Wifi password is clearly posted on the napkin dispensers. There are charging outlets everywhere. The menu is mostly pastries and muffins (including strudels you won’t find other places), along with some hearty bagels and a small, but adventurous breakfast menu including a green chili egg and cheese sandwich on fresh Cuban bread. Street parking in these parts is unlimited so you won’t have to move your car if you linger for more than 2 hours. Or, drop your car over at the nearby tire shop and get that oil change you’ve been putting off. Gypsy Souls is also a great stop if you have a friend in St. Anthony’s who needs a break from hospital jello.
Oh, and most importantly: the coffee menu is broad and excellent, including a Ghiradelli mocha, a really smooth latte, and for the non-coffee crowd, they have a variety of smoothies and local fave Mother Kombucha. Gypsy Souls isn’t quite a secret, but it’s off the beaten path enough that you can really get some work done here without distractions.
