Your daily dose of levity: Patriotic Skyway, 800g challenge, Nesting
Every day, we’re sharing what we’re reading, watching, doing and listening to … the things that bring levity to our own lives. We’ll also share random things we’re talking about, laughing about and smiling about on social media, in pop culture and beyond. We encourage you to share your daily sources of levity with us in the comments or on social media.
Today…
Time to get comfy. Gov. Ron DeSantis today announced a stay-at-home order for the next month. That means aside from seeking essential services, we’re staying put. Now’s the time to tidy up, buck up and take care of yourself and your family. But don’t worry, we’ll be here to bring you the good news and share how we’re passing the time in isolation.
What we’re eating…
- VEGGIES! The 800g Challenge is simple: Eat 800 grams (g) of fruits and/or vegetables, by weight, a day. There are no foods restrictions, you continue to eat whatever else you want. You pick which fruits and vegetables to eat, and you can weigh them cooked, canned (drained), frozen or fresh. Check out the details here.
What we’re doing…
- Finding peaceful ways to wind down. As home life and work life blur and uncertainty abounds, it can be increasingly difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep. Creating a bedtime ritual has never been more important. Just 10 minutes of reading, a warm bath or written reflections can make all of the difference.
- Nesting. No, no one’s pregnant. But we are getting ready to sit tight – comfortably. Here’s some advice from the New York Times on decluttering, making space for a home office and lighting your home for the days (and nights) ahead.
