Area hospitals make new US News ‘best hospitals’ report
July 28, 2020 - Tampa General Hospital ranked No. 4 in Florida and No. 1 in the Tampa-St. Petersburg area on the new U.S. News & World Report list of best hospitals for 2020-2021. Tampa General was nationally ranked in five adult specialties: cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and GI surgery, nephrology, and orthopedics. TGH was also high-performing in five adult specialties and seven procedures/conditions, Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater was No. 2 in the metro area, and was high performing in 10 procedures/conditions. St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa (high performing in five procedures/conditions) was No. 3 in the areas. Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor and Advent Health Tampa were both high performing in three procedures/conditions and ranked No. 4 and No. 5 respectively in the area.
