Area under tropical storm warning, surge watch

August 3, 2024 - The National Weather Service has issued a tropical storm warning and storm surge watch for Pinellas County. A tropical depression near Cuba will likely become a named storm - “Debbie” - as it enters the Gulf of Mexico and heads towards Florida’s Big Bend area. Forecasters expect 30 to 40 mph winds with up to 55 mph gusts and two to four feet of storm surge to affect Pinellas by Sunday evening.
