Beachgoers are destroying newly created dunes
October 14, 2023 - Treasure Island and Pinellas County officials are pleading for the public’s help in protecting a multi-million-dollar emergency sand dune restoration project in Sunset Beach. The area remains closed, yet people continue walking over the newly created dunes “and destroying them in the process.” Officials warn that trespassing in the designated construction zone - which should open Oct. 30 - is unlawful.
