Bolts shock Rangers and tie series

June 8, 2022 - After losing two straight in New York to begin the NHL’s Eastern Conference Finals, the Tampa Bay Lightning have returned the favor on their home ice. The Bolts dominated the Rangers 4-1 Tuesday night at Amalie Arena to tie the series at two-all as the teams return to Madison Square Garden. Pat Maroon began the scoring for Tampa Bay just two and half minutes into the first period, followed by Nikita Kucherov’s breakaway goal at 13:07 in the second. Steven Stamkos’ goal at 4:56 in the third gave the Lighting a 3-0 lead and essentially put the nail in the coffin. Ondrej Palat assisted on both goals and added one of his own to close the game. New York hosts Game 5 of the best-of-seven series, with the puck dropping at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
