Bomb threat investigation ongoing at St. Pete-Clearwater Airport

July 7, 2025 - The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office was alerted to a verbal bomb threat made by a passenger aboard an Allegiant flight from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) to Roanoke, Virginia, at approximately 2 p.m. Sunday. The flight returned to PIE and deputies did not locate a bomb. The sheriff's office did not release information regarding criminal charges Sunday night, as the FBI is now leading the investigation. Multiple witnesses confirmed that passenger Taj Taylor, 27, stated he had a bomb.
