Bucs coordinator will not take head coaching job

January 22, 2025 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans can breathe a sigh of relief as, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, offensive coordinator Liam Coen withdrew his name from consideration for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ head coaching position Wednesday morning. Coen, 39, was reportedly the frontrunner to lead the Jaguars after turning Baker Mayfield into one the game’s most productive quarterbacks. Schefter said the Bucs offered Coen a new contract that places him among the NFL’s highest-paid coordinators.
