Castor wins Tampa mayoral election
April 23, 2019 - Jane Castor will become the next mayor of Tampa. The former police chief captured 73.1 percent of the vote Tuesday night, defeating David Straz, a philanthropist and retired banker. Castor will take office on May 1, succeeding Bob Buckhorn, who served eight years as mayor.
