City council OKs new 18-story residential tower expansion

July 16, 2021 - On Thursday, St. Pete city council members unanimously approved the plans for the group behind the Camden Pier District Apartments to build an adjacent apartment tower. The plan calls for a $30 million, 18-story residential tower at 201 4th Avenue South. The 10,000-square-foot lot was home to a dental office, but it has been vacant for some time. Camden currently operates the popular 357-unit apartment complex at 330 3rd Street South. The height of the new building will align with the existing tower. The council approved the project as it is consistent with the Intown Redevelopment Plan and is appropriate for the current zoning.
