City program allows residents to donate to families in need through their utility bills

September 1, 2020 -

Saturday, Sept. 5 is International Day of Charity and the City of St. Petersburg is making it easy to give back to people in need. The city's Utility Assistance Program allows residents to make automatic charitable donations through their utility bills. Collected funds will be distributed through a network of social service agencies to help local families who need assistance paying their utility bills. Residents can make a one-time contribution or commit to monthly donations for any amount. There's also an option where residents can opt to round up their bills to the nearest dollar and the difference is donated. To learn more, click here
