City schedules FEMA ‘49% Rule’ workshop

November 1, 2024 - St. Petersburg officials will discuss storm rebuilding requirements at a virtual workshop Nov. 8 to help assist residents recovering from Hurricane Milton. If the cost of repairs to structures in a Special Flood Hazard area equals or exceeds 49% of the building’s pre-storm market value, owners must rebuild according to current zoning, building and floodplain management regulations. All residents must receive proper permits before repairing or rebuilding homes damaged by Hurricane Helene and Milton. For more information, visit the website here.
