City to host State of the Economy June 3
May 20, 2026 - Mayor Ken Welch and the City of St. Petersburg will host the 2026 State of the Economy June 3 at the Mahaffey Theater, at 400 1st Street S., from 4 - 6 p.m. The event will provide a "snapshot of how St. Petersburg’s local economy is performing, including jobs, business growth and overall economic trends that affect residents," according to a prepared statement. It will also highlight City initiatives and investments that support economic growth. City Council chair Lisset Hanewicz and guest speakers Michelle Detweiler, president & CEO of Parc Center for Disabilities, and Pat Mack, founder & CEO of PVM, are scheduled to attend.
