Commissioners approve new mobile health unit

December 15, 2022 - Pinellas County’s homeless population will soon have an upgraded resource for medical care after the board of commissioners awarded a contract to LifeLine Mobile to build a new 45-foot mobile health unit. The bus will provide primary care, basic dental procedures and behavioral health assessments under the Healthcare for the Homeless program. Commission Chair Charlie Justice told the Catalyst the new unit replaced an outdated vehicle consistently in need of repairs. He said it would travel to Salvation Army and Pinellas HOPE locations and anywhere unsheltered people need care.
