County jail to digitize inmate correspondence
April 12, 2025 - Starting April 15, the Pinellas County Jail will digitize all personal and legal mail through the Smart Communications platform. Inmates will then view all correspondence electronically, and senders should not mail documents or photos they do not want returned. According to the announcement, attorneys can still send privileged correspondence.
