County temporarily waives residential tire disposal fees
September 28, 2026 - In response to a rising number of dengue fever cases, Pinellas County Solid Waste is waiving residential tire disposal fees from Sept. 28 to Oct. 30. According to a prepared statement, "tires stored outside homes can collect water and become breeding sites for thousands of mosquitoes over a single season." Residents may dispose of up to four tires at no charge at the Solid Waste Disposal Complex, at 3095 114th Avenue N. in St. Petersburg.
