Fatal crash snarls traffic on Howard Frankland Bridge
January 3, 2025 - Traffic came to a standstill Friday morning on the Howard Frankland Bridge after two crashes, one with a fatality, occurred in both directions. Google Maps showed extreme delays persisting at 10 a.m. and heavy congestion on the Gandy Bridge and Courtney Campbell Causeway. The Florida Highway Patrol reported a motorcyclist died after striking a road ranger’s truck while heading northbound on the Howard Frankland. The southbound crash involved four vehicles.
