FDOT begins $340 million I-275 widening project
August 19, 2025 - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) recently commenced a $340 million project to widen I-275 from 38th Avenue North to 4th Street North in St. Petersburg. The span will also feature two tolled express lanes in each direction. The project will connect to the recently completed Gateway Expressway and the new Howard Frankland Bridge, which is still under construction.
