Federal prosecutor in Tampa will take calls about election fraud
October 17, 2020 - Robert Mosakowski, an assistant U.S. Attorney in Tampa, has been appointed to serve as the district election officer for the Middle District of Florida for the Nov. 3 election. Mosakowski is responsible for overseeing the district’s handling of complaints of election fraud and voting rights abuses. Federal law protects against intimidating or bribing voters, buying and selling votes, impersonating voters, altering vote tallies, stuffing ballot boxes, and marking ballots for voters against their wishes or without their input. It also contains special protections for the rights of voters, and provides that they can vote free from acts that intimidate or harass them, a news release from the U.S. Attorney's office said. Mosakowski will be on duty for the Middle District of Florida while the polls are open. He can be reached by the public at 813-274-6129. In addition, the FBI will have special agents available to receive allegations of election fraud and other election abuses on election day. The phone number for the Tampa FBI field office is 813-253-1000.
