First Black-owned Ben & Jerry’s in Florida opens in Clearwater

February 24, 2022 - Florida is now home to its first Black-owned Ben and Jerry’s franchises, and both locations are in Tampa Bay. The first location, at 409 Mandalay Ave. in Clearwater Beach, is now open. A second location in the Midtown Tampa development will open soon. Both are owned by a group of three African American men, the first within the ice cream conglomerate to own several stores across the country. The group now owns 10 stores across six states and prioritizes minority and diversity hires at their shops. Both Tampa Bay locations are still hiring, and prospective applicants can apply here.
