Florida Aquarium CEO joins SWFWMD board
September 18, 2019 - Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Roger Germann, president and CEO of The Florida Aquarium, to the governing board of the Southwest Florida Water Management District, a regional agency tasked with protecting water resources. The appointment is subject to Florida Senate confirmation. Throughout his career, Germann has been instrumental in establishing several national initiatives – from working with zoo and aquarium CEOs to create the Association of Zoos & Aquariums global campaign to save species, to launching the nation’s first comprehensive aquarium conservation advocacy program.
