Florida Funders invests in AI startup

September 14, 2022 - Tampa-based venture capital firm and angel network Florida Funders has invested in a $3 million seed round for a voice-activated artificial intelligence platform. The company called ybot has created a multilingual, voice-activated autonomous work assistant that helps companies address customers. For example, it can help customers track online orders and answer questions in real time. Florida Funders did not disclose the amount it invested in the round, which was from the Florida Funders' Fund 2 LLC. However, the funds will support ybot’s efforts to continue product development, marketing and hiring efforts, with plans to double employee headcount in the next year, according to Florida Funders' announcement.
