Florida salons, barber shops can reopen Monday
May 8, 2020 - Most Florida barber shops, hair salons and nail salons will be allowed to reopen Monday, according to a tweet posted by Gov. Ron DeSantis. The governor did not make the announcement directly, but instead posted "a major announcement from my friend J Henry, owner of J Henry’s Barber Shop in downtown Orlando." DeSantis separately extended Florida's state of emergency for 60 days, in a resolution that said "the impact of Covid-19 poses a continuing threat to the health, safety and welfare of the state of Florida and its residents."
