USFSP hosts statewide underwater robotics competition
May 3, 2025 - Over 100 statewide middle and high school students competed Saturday morning in the MATE Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Regional Competition at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. USF's Florida Institute of Oceanography hosted the event. Teams of students designed and operated underwater robots for real-world missions, and the winners will compete at the world championships in Michigan this summer.
