Hertz lays off 170 at Tampa airport
May 6, 2020 - The Hertz Corp. has laid off 170 workers at Tampa International Airport. A rapid and drastic decline in travel volumes due to Covid-19 has caused rental car bookings to fall off dramatically, Hertz said in an April 24 Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. Hertz also laid off workers at airports in Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Fort Myers, for a total of 678 layoffs statewide.
