Honeymoon Island State Park to undergo improvements

October 5, 2021 - Under Honeymoon Island State Park's management plan, the park in Pinellas County will continue to make improvements and add new amenities and features such as: 

• Construction of a new entrance lane and toll booth
• An expansion of the Nature Center that will allow it to accommodate a classroom for 80-100 people; this area would also be considered for the development of a paddling launch to facilitate recreational access to the bay

The full plan can be found here.  Honeymoon Island State Park sees over 1.25 million visitors per year. The park is known for its efforts on protecting shorebirds and seagrass.
