Insurtech firm with St. Pete presence raises $82M

March 10, 2022 - Chicago-based insurtech company Kin has completed an $82 million Series D funding round, bringing its total raised to $238.2 million, according to Crunchbase. Kin, which offers mobile homeowners insurance, has an office in St. Pete and 90 employees statewide.  The funding round is said to help propel the company's operations in St. Pete and at its other sites as well. The round was led by QED Investors with participation from returning investors Commerce Ventures, Flourish Ventures, Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd., Alpha Edison, Allegis NL Capital, Avanta Ventures (venture arm of CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer) and August Capital, and new investors Geodesic Capital and PROOF.VC.
