Jabil plans manufacturing plant in North Carolina

December 8, 2020 - Jabil Healthcare will build a 180,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Henderson County, North Carolina. The plant is expected to begin operations in 2022 and create 150 new jobs by 2025, a news release from the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development said. Jabil (NYSE: JBL), a manufacturing services company headquartered in St. Petersburg, plans to invest $38 million in the North Carolina plant. Jabil looked at sites in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Mexico before deciding to locate the new facility in Henderson County, the news release said. Both Henderson County and the city of Hendersonville authorized property tax refunds to attract Jabil, according to the Hendersonville Lighting.
