Law school launches civic education program for teens

March 5, 2021 - Stetson University College of Law, in partnership with Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg, has created a summer program designed to teach underrepresented teenagers how to advocate for themselves and others. The weeklong program is for young people between the ages of 15 and 17 who face challenges in their lives because of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status or school performance. Stetson officials say declining levels of civics education and social action programming led them to create the program. For more information about the program or how to apply, contact Carmen Johnson at cjohnso2@law.stetson.edu.
