Local electric bills to decrease by $11

December 5, 2023 - St. Petersburg-based Duke Energy Florida announced Tuesday that the Florida Public Service Commission unanimously approved the company’s request to lower rates in January. An average resident using 1,000 kWh will see a monthly decrease of $11.29. Duke officials credited lower-than-expected storm recovery, fuel and capacity costs for the reduction.
