Local foundation to receive $125,000 from United Way Suncoast to expand educational programming

The Shirley Proctor Puller Foundation will be receiving $125,000 in Community Investment funding from United Way Suncoast for its M.A.S.T.R. Kids Program. The program, which is focused on academic enrichment and leadership, was created to further the foundation's mission mission of advancing literacy and helping to close the achievement gap for students in South St. Pete. The award to the foundation is part of the $5.6 million in community investments United Way Suncoast has made in 2020. Community investments were aligned to priority areas and focused on asset development, early learning, financial stability, workforce development and youth success across Hillsborough, Pinellas, Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto Counties.
