Local rapper accused of conspiracy to commit armed robbery

April 23, 2021 - The St. Petersburg Police Department has arrested and charged Francois “Frenchy” Hester, a St. Pete rapper who performs under the name OTM Frenchyy, with conspiracy to commit armed robbery in connection with an incident that occurred on Jan. 27. According to documents filed in Pinellas County Circuit Court, Hester, 26, allegedly assaulted Bekir Hrnjic — the owner of Mediterranean Restaurant, also known as Serbian Mediterranean Restaurant — with a handgun and stole $21,500 in cash from him. St. Pete resident Bajro Bajric, 26, is also charged in the case as he allegedly knew that Hrnjic was carrying a large amount of cash when the two of them met for lunch on Jan. 27. Hester was arrested on March 23 and, when questioned by police and confronted with call-log evidence, admitted that he worked with Bajric to set up the robbery.
