Mahaffey Covid test site changes expected amid Grand Prix prep

September 18, 2020 - St. Petersburg officials are looking at an alternative plan for the Covid-19 testing that's currently taking place at the Duke Energy for the Arts Mahaffey Theater. The theater is in the area where organizers of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will be setting up the track for the race, which has been rescheduled to Oct. 23-Oct. 25. The city is working with Pinellas County and Florida health departments to keep testing going with as little interruption as possible, Amber Boulding, manager of the office of emergency management, told City Council members Thursday. The Mahaffey site, a drive-up site that offers free Covid-19 testing, currently is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Antibody tests also are available at the Mahaffey site. Additional test information is here.
