Oldsmar marketing firm acquires California signage company

March 31, 2021 - Spectrio, an Oldsmar-based provider of marketing services that include on-hold messaging and digital signs and menu boards, has acquired Enplug, a digital signage company headquartered in Culver City, Calif. One of Enplug’s recent innovations, according to a news release, is the free Enplug Art application, which brings more than 1,000 works of contemporary and classic art to any Internet-connected display or TV. The program allowed artists to share their work with the public while museums and art galleries were closed down during the Covid-19 pandemic. “Enplug has a remarkable reputation for its flexible and innovative digital signage platform that is easy to manage and scale for global brands,” Spectrio Chief Technology Officer Daniel Babb stated in the release. “We are excited to add Enplug’s unique multi-level content creation and interactive communication capabilities to Spectrio’s suite of customer engagement technology solutions.” Spectrio itself was acquired by a private equity firm in December.
