Pianist Kanneh-Mason withdraws from Florida Orchestra concert

October 6, 2026 - Classical pianist Jeneba Kanneh-Mason has withdrawn (due to a minor injury) from The Florida Orchestra's Oct. 16 and 17 concerts. Music director Michael Francis has removed Florence Price's Piano Concerto - on which she was to guest - from the program, substituting Copland's Appalachian Spring. The headline piece remains Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, paired with American Promise by Karen LeFrak. Concerts are at Ruth Eckerd Hall (Oct. 16) and the Mahaffey Theater (Oct. 17).
