Pilot Bank president continues as chair of Outback Bowl

June 4, 2021 - Rita Lowman, president of Pilot Bank, will continue for a second year as chair of the board of directors of the Outback Bowl.  Lowman was first elected to the chair post in 2020 and has been a member of the board 2013. The Outback Bowl is an annual New Year’s Day college bowl game, featuring teams from the Southeastern Conference and Big Ten /ACC and played in Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Over its history the Outback Bowl has brought more than 1 million out-of-market visitors to the region while creating an estimated $1.1 billion in economic impact and distributing $158 million to universities.  It has also contributed more than $2.5 million to local charities since 2016. Other newly elected board officers for the 2021-22 bowl include: R. Troy Atlas, president, Stonehill, who is board vice chair; Todd Timmerman, partner, Shumaker Loop & Kendrick, vice chair Pinellas County; Chris Roederer, senior vice president-human resources, Tampa General Hospital, vice chair Hillsborough County; Greg Orchard, former CFO of Visit Tampa Bay, Treasurer; and Todd Buchanan, senior vice president, AIG Retirement Services, secretary.
